This role reports directly to the Director of Finance and former Controller with a dotted line to operations. As a key leader within the organization, you’ll operate with autonomy and play a critical role in supporting our Shareholders, Customers, and Vendors.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
 Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage standalone and consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. 
  • Oversee General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset and Equipment, Payroll, and Banking operations (6 team members).
  • Manage annual financial audits including Company, ESOP and 401k audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Maintain fixed asset and equipment schedules and assist our Shop with financial transactions.
  • Oversee tax administration for the Company with regards to TPT, 2290 Forms, Fuel Tax Credits and others.
  • From time to time, assist and consult with Benefits administrators.
  • Oversee and assist with Bond tracking activities & schedules.
  • Manage credit card T&E program and Fuel Fleet program managed through CorPay.
  • Implement and/or make best use ERP modules and move away from manual processes, such as materials management and depreciation. 
  • Oversee job costing, Work-in-Progress schedules & backlog forecasting and monthly WIP reviews with the executive team and Division managers.
  • Track and report on project profitability, budgets, variances, and billing.
  • Oversee billings, subcontractor payments, and lien waiver administration.
  • Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts to be discussed in the monthly WIP reviews.

Baseline Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Professional demeanor and appearance who fosters an environment of responsibility and trust.
  • 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • 5+ years relevant management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products like Word and Power BI but must absolutely be an expert in Excel to perform required tasks like budgeting, forecasting, ad-hoc, reconciliations, prepare audit requests and most importantly, reconcile our percentage of completion model.
  • Large ERP experience such as Trimble, SAP, Netsuite.
  • Ability to travel as needed in Company provided vehicle to Sierra Vista, AZ.

Nice to Have:
  • CPA, CMA, MBA designation
  • Trimble ERP Construction experience
  • HCSS construction software experience
