KE&G Construction Inc. is one of southern Arizona’s leading heavy-civil contractors. We currently have an opening for an Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. THE POSITION:
The Accounting Specialist primary area is co-managing Accounts Payable consisting of entering invoices and obtaining approvals, processing of invoices including job coding and general ledger coding, monthly reconciliation to vendors statements and reconciling job cost and general ledger.   
Additional responsibilities include obtaining proper lien waivers from subcontractors and issuing of approved payments, cross training with Accounts Receivable and assisting Accounting Manager with additional accounting functions. 

Candidate must be fluent in construction or manufacturing accounting, experience with ERP software’s, highly proficient in data entry.   and a minimum of recent three years' experience in the industry with an associate's degree or recent five years plus in the construction or manufacturing environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enter vendor invoices into an ERP software, including job cost accounting and general ledger accounting.  
  • Reconcile vendors statements and balance monthly to general ledger.
  • Ensure monthly recurring invoices are received timely and properly processed for payment.
  • Communicate with vendors on invoice discrepancies.
  • Understand a taxable vs a non-taxable item and communicate with vendor tax exempt forms.
  • Support Accounting Management team with additional essential accounting functions as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Either three recent years in the construction or manufacturing environment with an associates degree or five plus recent years in the construction or manufacturing environment.  
  • Must have full work experience and knowledge of job cost accounting and general ledger.
  • Highly proficient experience in Excel, Word, Outlook; including excel functions such as
  • Experience with ERP construction or manufacturing software (Trimble Viewpoint by Vista, Sage, QuickBook Contractor or Enterprise, or similar.)
  • Thorough knowledge in job cost accounting and general ledger. 
  • Strong numerical and data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Follows directions well and collaborates when suitable.
  • Enjoy working in a large team environment, simultaneously ability to work alone and complete assignments timely.
Hourly wage $24.00 to 26.00 per hour, DOE


Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday
7:00am to 4:00 pm with a one-hour lunch
or
7:30:am to 4:00 pm with a half hour lunch.

Friday 7:00am to 3:00 pm.

Full time– in office, 40-hour work week on average. 
Some overtime may be required for end of month accounting close.
